Scott Paul Burgundy
In 2008, we started producing micro-amounts of wine in Burgundy in partnership with some of our producers in the Côte d’Or. It began with a barrel of 2008 Chambolle-Musigny produced in the cellars of Anne & Hervé Sigaut. Then in 2009 we produced out first white, a single barrel of 2009 Meursault with our friends at Domaine Buisson-Charles.

Our goal is to continue to produce a a barrel or two in Burgundy each year as circumstances allow. As these wines are produced in such tiny quantities, they are not available through regular distribution channels, and are generally offered to our club and mailing list members only.

2009 Meursault $65 >>
Thanks to our friends at Meursault’s Domaine Buisson-Charles, we are proud to present our first White produced in Burgundy under the Scott Paul label. The fruit is from two different parcels in Meursault – les Pellans at the Puligny border, just below Charmes, and les Millerands, in the center of the village and downhill from Goutte d’Or. The result is a wine that showcases the classic opulence of Meursault and the richness of the ideal 2009 vintage, with a nice touch of minerality and edginess to boot. It’s a lovely swirl of honeysuckle, white peaches and fresh lime – a deliciously mouth-filling wine that should gain flavor complexity and add layers of aromas over the next 5-7 years. 25 cases produced.
2009 Chambolle-Musigny $59 >>
We were blessed with a warm, sunny and uneventful growing season in Burgundy in 2009, resulting in wines of oppulence, charm, and seduction. Especially in my beloved village of Chambolle-Musigny, home to Burgundy’s most elegant expression of Pinot Noir. Our 2009 Chambolle is from Domaine Sigaut’s portion of the Les Bussières vineyard on the border between Chambolle and Morey. It shows lovely ripe blackberries on the nose, with deliciously rich and succulent fruit on the palate, all culminating in a vibrant and pretty finish. Drink it now, or watch it develop over the next 5-7 years. 25 cases produced.
