2006 Audrey Pinot Noir
$55 (6 bottle case $330) SOLD OUT!
219 6-packs produced

Only five barrels were chosen for this year’s selection. Our standards and criteria are exacting, and only wine with very special qualities gets to wear the Audrey name. (Audrey is named after and inspired by the timeless icon of natural beauty, elegance, and grace –the late Ms. Hepburn.)

The 2006 Audrey is again this year comprised entirely of fruit from our blocks of Maresh Vineyard, situated atop the Dundee Hills. Our wines from this outstanding old-vine site have proven year after year to be the class of the cellar, and they show their best when on their own. We feel this is one of the rare sites in Oregon truly deserving of “single vineyard” status.

Maresh vineyard was planted by Jim Maresh in 1970, making it one of the true grand-daddies of Oregon vineyards (in fact only four Oregon sites are older.) Maresh is a L.I.V.E.-certified sustainable and Salmon-safe vineyard, and we have begun converting it to biodynamic viticulture – the transition will be complete by 2009.

The 2006 Audrey was fermented in a custom-made Taransaud French Oak open top tank, and no yeasts or other additions were made. The wine was aged in French oak for 10 months, with one of the five barrels being new - and it was bottled un-fined and un-filtered at 13.9% alcohol on August 23rd, 2007.

Scott & Kelley’s Tasting Notes ~ In keeping with the vintage, ripe and rich fruit aromas lead the way, folding into succulent and concentrated dark cherries, blackberries and spice notes on the palate. There’s a richness of sweet fruit in the mouth, nicely balanced with good acidity that brings it all together on an impressively long finish. Enjoy it now for the fresh ripe fruit, or cellar it for greater complexity over the next 5-7 years.

2006 La Paulée Pinot Noir
$40 (6 bottle case $240)
2,026 cases produced

La Paulée – our most complete and complex wine of the vintage. The 2006 version brings together fruit from four different vineyards in four different sub-appellations, and together the combination displays the full spectrum of what Pinot Noir in the Willamette valley can be.

Ribbon Ridge Vineyard (Ribbon Ridge AVA) 36% - We’ve worked with this site since 2003, and have always loved its rich mix of red and black fruits and great texture.

Momtazi Vineyard (McMinnville AVA) 19% - Farmed biodynamically with meticulous care, this gorgeous hillside brings concentrated black fruit flavors and structure to the mix..

Stoller Vineyard (Dundee Hills AVA) 30% - A majestic site on the southern end of the Dundee Hills, which always shows pretty red fruits and spicy elements.

Shea Vineyard (Yamhill-Carlton AVA) 15% - Earth, power, dark fruits and ripe tannins are the signature of one of Oregon’s most venerated vineyards.

As always, all fermentations were natural, with no cultured yeasts added. The wine was raised for 10 months in French Oak – 20% new - and was bottled un-fined and un-filtered at 13.9% alcohol on August 23 & 24, 2007.

Scott & Kelley’s Tasting Notes ~ Swirling fruit and flower notes invite you in for a closer look. The first impression on the palate is one of texture – it’s quite rich and silky and seamless. And long. Ripe red cherries, raspberry notes, and black fruit undertones develop as the wine flows on into a pure and lingering finish. Seductive now, and better still 2009-2012+. Yum!

2006 Cuvée Martha Pirrie Pinot Noir - $24 SOLD OUT
964 cases produced

(Named after our daughter – she goes by “Pirrie” – this cuvée delivers the sexy and seductive side of Pinot at a price that fits.)

The 2006 version of our value-priced Cuvée Martha Pirrie was produced from our blocks of six outstanding vineyards, representing five of the newly-minted AVA’s here in the Willamette Valley - Shea Vineyard in the Yamhill-Carlton AVA, Stoller Vineyard in the Dundee Hills AVA, Ribbon Ridge Vineyard in the Ribbon Ridge AVA, Momtazi Vineyard in the McMinnville AVA, and Zena Crown and Zenith Vineyards, both in the Eola-Amity Hills AVA.

This marks the debut of Momtazi Vineyard fruit in our wines, and we’re excited to work with this Biodynamically-certified site. We’re also thrilled to work with our first fruit from the hillsides of the Eola-Amity Hills, two new sites that broaden our spectrum of flavors and textures.

Tasting Notes

Bright red fruits on the nose and entry, with ripe raspberries leading into yummy cherries and some blackberry notes. It’s lithe and slender like a model on a Paris runway, but a lot more approachable. This is classy and elegant juice to drink now and over the next 3-5 years.
