Audrey is our selection of the best-of-the-best each year – the silkiest, purest, and most refined we’ve produced. This year we chose our favorite seven barrels of the vintage, the clear stars of our cellar. (Audrey is named after and inspired by the timeless icon of natural beauty, elegance, and grace –the late Ms. Hepburn.) Consistently one of Oregon’s most sought-after and highest-scoring wines every year since its debut, the wine is meant to share many of the attributes of its namesake – including refinement, elegance, and a natural, un-manipulated beauty and grace.

The 2010 Audrey is entirely from old-vine vineyards in the Dundee Hills. 6 barrels are from our acreage at Maresh Vineyard – planted in 1970, with one barrel from 20 year-old vines at Nysa Vineyard rounding out the cuvée.

The 2010 Audrey was fermented in a custom-made Taransaud French Oak open top tank, and no yeasts or other additions were made. The wine was aged in French oak for 11 months, with two of the seven barrels being new – and it was bottled un-fined and un-filtered at 13.1% alcohol on September 7th, 2011.

Scott & Kelley’s Tasting Notes

2010 was a cool vintage of pure, classic, elegant Pinot Noir. Nature set a tiny crop in the spring, and then swarms of hungry birds arrived at harvest to eat much of what was on the vines. The result was microscopic yields and lovely wines, but about half the amount we would normally produce. ’10 Audrey shows bright and precise red fruits and spices dominating the nose, the flavors are a swirl of fresh cherries and raspberries, and the texture is fine silk. The finish lingers on gracefully, delicious now and better yet over the next 5-10 years.
